Experience
My experience as an educator includes teaching English in special education, working as a faculty member of the theater Conservatory, serving as a program facilitator for a summer camp, and advisement. I have seen students who do not embrace learning because they been filled by their educators and mentors, and often this is related to an underprivileged community and school. I have been focusing on those as a teacher to identify ways to connect with the students and help them develop self-esteem and appreciation of learning. I believe every child has the right to a quality education, and I aim to provide that. As for tutoring, I'm comfortable helping students in a wide variety of subjects. These include reading and reading comprehension for the elementary through high school level, writing, essay writing and editing, comparative literature, adult literacy, special education, public speaking, social sciences, study skills and organization, IB theater HL and SL, IB theory of knowledge, art, algebra, pre-algebra, test preparation, and others. When I have some spare time outside of academics, I enjoy building computers, playing video games, playing ultimate Frisbee, being involved in the theater as an actor, director, or sound designer, playing board games, and soccer.
