Not only have I worked for years as a tutor, I am also a student, so I empathize with my students regarding challenging classwork. I am currently in my third year as a pharmacy student, which is a difficult subject to master. However, I am passionate about reaching my own academic goals, and helping my students reach their own goals for their education. I began tutoring classmates early on, especially in geometry, biology, and chemistry. While in undergrad, I tutored elementary school children through an after-school community center program, using games and fun activities to help them improve their reading comprehension and writing skills. I have also helped middle school students on English skills like grammar and vocabulary, as well as social studies. My tutoring skills even extended to a senior center where I worked as a tutor on personal computer use. I also had the good fortune to work with School on Wheels, which is a tutoring program that offers homework assistance, reading and writing, and more. I have also been a reading tutor with Nashville public schools. Through education, I am able to improve my community. I want to teach my tutoring students to have fun with their education, which helps them want to learn more.
