ExperienceI spent 27 years practicing environmental law, but I decided to switch careers to teaching. I have a bachelor's degree in history from Hofstra University, along with a masters degree in public administration from Indiana University - Bloomington. I've always been interested in teaching, and I decided to become a social studies teacher because of my history background. I've had the opportunity to mentor others in the past individually and in small groups. This included helping lawyers with research and writing, and consulting young people who are considering careers in law. For this reason, I've become interested in tutoring.
I always head into anything with proper preparation. When I teach government and economics, I create study guides for myself and my students. I believe the success of my students and AP courses has been related to the study guides. When I tutor a student, I will find out their needs and look over their syllabus, assignments, and exams to identify opportunities. I will then focus on developing a lesson plan that meets those needs.
I can tutor subjects such as administration of law, history, economics, civil procedure, business, government and politics, constitutional law, contract law, criminal law, evidence, legal research, legal writing, essays, political science, tort law, and test preparation for the LSAT, GED, CLEP, and others. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the banjo, reading history, doing puzzles, home improvement projects, ecology nature, and woodworking.
HobbiesWoodworking, 5 string banjo, reading (mostly history), puzzles, home improvement, nature and ecology
