Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in industrial engineering and operations research. I have subsequently been accepted into the doctorate program of the same field at the University of California, Berkeley. I began my tutoring as a high school student but it wasn't until college that I discovered my passion for teaching. For the past two years I have tutored individual students and I have also led group study sessions. I currently tutor students in algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1 - 3, elementary math, middle school math, pre-calculus, arithmetic, algebra 3/4, pre-algebra, and AP courses in similar subjects. The feedback I have received from my students has been very valuable for my growth as a teacher. I know how important it is to treat each student as an individual and not to focus only on their academic strengths or weaknesses. I take the time to get to know my students so that I may better prepare lesson plans that will engage them and make the material more easily accessible to them, no matter where their starting point may be. I look forward to helping each of my students achieve their academic potential and I hope to inspire in them a love of math that will last a lifetime.
